Our brands

For Creative Decisions, the KiwiGrow™ hypergovernance approach, and its underlying model NZ2100, are brands crucial to our success.  

NZ2100 is the brand name for the freely available public domain universal health model obtained by applying the Creative Decisions Common Sustainability Language (the seven system qualities, or criteria for system health: nurturing, supportive, stable, contributing, responsive, directed, adaptive - and their associated definitions) to the two 4-way systems views - (a) social, economic, environmental, and cultural,  and (b) - for people as individuals: physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual.  Thus, NZ2100 is associated with a 28-way matrix-based approach to assessing and communicating health, sustainability, and wellbeing.

KiwiGrow™ is the brand associated with our New Zealand-based view of how to achieve hypergovernance.  The detailed methods we present in this website show how KiwiGrow is used in practice.  They involve a stakeholder, ecosystem approach that draws on leading edge systems thinking theory and practice.

Creative Decisions itself is our third brand.  Creative Decisions stands for creative, positive, forward looking approaches to problems related to health and sustainability.  It aspires to be an embodiment of the values of NZ2100 and KiwiGrow, and thereby help to demonstrate a new form of capitalism oriented to the needs of the 21st century.

Many organisations with objectives or missions similar to Creative Decisions operate as non-profits. We believe that the world needs more examples of companies that operate profitably with sustainability at their core.  Even though our activities as a company are presently mostly limited to awareness-raising, we aspire to be a successful, sustainable company that offers a full range of products and services related to well-being and sustainability. NZ2100 and KiwiGrow will be pivotal to that success.

KiwiGrow™ - the brand of the leaders

Notwithstanding any other emerging applications of NZ2100, its application through KiwiGrow™ is the first attempt to show how it can effectively integrate sustainability into everyday business and living.   While we encourage others to establish their own brands based around NZ2100, we also encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing.  Elsewhere we talk about how levels of NZ2100 certification can be practically and effectively determined by markets.  The basic idea is that there will eventually be many brands based on NZ2100, and that the extent that any organisation, group or company can benefit from a brand will depend to a large extent on the credibility of the lead organisation that manages the brand.   Currently we see KiwiGrow™ as the brand of the leaders, and we encourage you to join the KiwiGrow Network to work with us collaboratively to advance this brand in the global marketplace.

Elsewhere you will find a lot of progress has been made towards measurement of various parameters of sustainability, but very little progress in terms of systems that bring these measures together to communicate progress towards sustainability and well-being in any holistic sense.  Creative Decisions will draw on this progress but emphasise first and foremost the necessity for a holistic, comprehensive approach that doesn't leave out or skim over important issues just because they are presently hard to measure. Even the simplest of organisations and the smallest of groups will be able to use the NZ2100 model to present a view of their health and sustainability.  As they grow in size and sophistication they may be able to take advantage of the progress that has been made in measuring - especially in relation to carbon footprints and climate change impacts.  

Leaders in sustainability don't have to be the big companies with the big budgets to do sophisticated science and measurement.  Through NZ2100 and KiwiGrow, we believe real leadership and commitment to sustainability will be easier to recognise and reward.
